SELINGAN ISLAND ESCAPE
Turtle islands is located in the Sulu Sea which is about 40 kilometers from Sandakan in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. There are three islands that make up Turtle Islands which has been gazzetted as a marine park. Pulau Selingan is the main island that served as a breeding ground for the green turtles. On almost every evening, these turtles would crawl up to the soft sandy beach that fringes the island to lay their eggs. On this island there are chalets for visitors. This island also house the hatchery and the park’s headquarters.

Day 1
0845hrs - Meet & Greet at hotel lobby ( Sandakan City Area ).
0930hrs - Depart from the Jetty with speedboat, its take about l hour. Upon arrival, proceed to the Reception counter for check-in and get room key. Free leisure, roaming on the beach, sun bathing, swimming or snorkeling in the sea can be done during the day or after lunch.
1230hrs - Lunch with local menu will be served at the cafeteria. Free and easy the rest of the day. The Parks Exhibition Hall which opens daily at 1830hrs, Video Show at 1900hrs. Dinner will be served at 1930hrs.
2000hrs - Standby at the Cafeteria until the announcement from the Parks Ranger inform the sighting of mother turtle coming ashore to lay eggs. Follow the Parks Ranger to the nesting side and witness the egg laying process collecting of eggs and the tagging of the mother turtle. Next is to witness the planting of turtle eggs in the hatchery. If you are lucky, you may witness the baby turtle being released to the sea for the first time.
Day 2
0630hrs - Breakfast in the Cafeteria. Checkout and return room key to the Reception Counter. Depart from Turtle Island at 0700hrs and arrives at the jetty at 0800hrs. Transfer back to hotel ( Sandakan City Area ) or Sandakan Airport.
