Explore off the map on this whitewater river run down the Padas in central Borneo!
An adventure that starts on a vintage train and ends on the banks of the Padas, this is a bucket list experience you’ll remember for a lifetime. Awake before dawn and board the Beaufort Express, meeting along the banks at sunrise for a hair-raising river run in the Malay rainforest - tackling 12 raging rapids towards Pangi.
 
Location
This activity takes place on the Padas River near Pangi. Paddling through 12 nerve wrecking rapids (class 3-4) on a 9km rafting course, the train journey from Beaufort takes around 1 1/2h - stopping halfway at Halogilat Station.
 
ITINERARY
 
0530hrs: Meet at hotel in Kota Kinabalu city and transfer directly to Beaufort Railway Station. The journey takes about 2hrs drive through the scenic country.
 
0730hrs: Expected time arrival at Beaufort town.
 
0740hrs: Tour begins with the train ride to rafting starting point known as Pangi (1½hrs - 2hrs ride). Train stop halfway at Halogilat Railway Station for luggage dropping / changing cloth (5 – 10mins) and transit to a different train, Tenom’s train. (Note: guests are however advisable to readily change their clothes before pick up at hotel)
 
1030hrs: Expected time arrival at Pangi Station. Safety briefing session conducted by our professional river guide/raft master (20mins session).
 
1100hrs: Experience the ultimate white water class III & IV and enjoy the extreme trip, nerve tingling excitement which is crescendos rapid after rapid till finally reach the ending point known as Rayoh Railway Station (12 exhilarating rapids / 1½hrs - 2hrs or 20km of splashing fun).

1330hrs: Buffet lunch will be served at Rayoh Railway Station.
 
1430hrs: On board the train back to Beaufort Railway Station (1 hrs-1½hrs ride).
 
1600hrs: Once arrived at Beaufort Railway Station, freshen up and get changed. Aboard our coach and transfer back to Kota Kinabalu city.
 
1800hrs: Estimated time arrival at Kota Kinabalu city.
